Hyundai is all set to launch the 2016 new Elantra in India, which will be a reworked version of the stylish sedan. The new Elantra looks sharp, stylish and very much appealing. Despite the additional styling features, the all new Elantra will get a 2.0 litre MPI engine under the hood, mated to a six speed manual transmission, which will churn out around 156 PS peak power and 179 Nm of peak torque on the tap.

Alongside the six speed manual a six speed automatic Shiftronic gearbox will be on offer as well. The 2.0 litre engine will deliver higher fuel efficiency as well. In the meantime the South Korean auto giant is to axe the 1.8 litre MPI petrol engine from the India spec Elantra.

Dimensionally the new Elantra gets a length of 4569 mm, 1800 mm of width, 1435 mm of height and 2700 mm of wheelbase. The height and the wheelbase remains the same, while the length and width has been increased by 50 mm and 25 mm respectively.

The front fascia of the new Elantra gets sharp headlamps with HID units and integrated LED daytime running lights. Hyundai incorporates their new generation design language which is seen in the revamped roof, new scallop at the side bottom, restyled rear profile, which dons sharp LED taillights making the car beautiful.

The interior of the new generation Elantra gets design cues from the upmarket Sonata and their premium Genesis as well. It gets an inviting cabin with upmarket premium quality upholstery materials, more space, and added comfort. The all black interior theme not only make the cabin sporty but also appealing.

The 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system at the stylish centre console is surely the most attractive feature at the front of the cabin.

The interior will sport features like segment first integrated memory system for power adjustable driver seat and the ORVMs, dual automatic temperature control, auto defogging system, auto dimming rearview mirror etc. Expected it to be priced at around Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh, and it would launch in India around August this year.
