2016 Indian Scout Sixty gets power from 60 cubic inch engine delivering 78 horsepower and 88.8 Nm of peak torque

Polaris India Pvt. Ltd., has today launched the all-new 2016 Indian Scout Sixty in Mumbai. At its authorised dealership, Auto Hangar India, the Indian Scout Sixty has been added to the Indian Motorcycle’s Scout line-up. Priced at Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai), it will be sold in three colour options: Thunder Black, Red and Pearl White. It will be available to buy from next month onwards across showrooms in Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.

It shares plenty of elements with the Indian Scout that gets power from a 69 cubic inch V-Twin engine and follows the launch of the Springfield cruiser two months ago. The second model in domestic market’s Scout range features blackened headlamp, analogue instrument cluster with digital tachometer, split dual exhaust with crossover, 643 mm seat height and low centre of gravity allowing for precise handling, balance and control to the ride with confidence. The handlebars, foot peg re-locators and seats can be adjusted based on individual preferences as well.

The other additional accessories include laced front and rear wheels, quick release windscreens and saddlebags. It has similar chassis as the Indian Scout along with the suspension and brakes. The Indian Scout Sixty gets the nomenclature due to it being strapped with a 60 cubic inch engine (983 cc) which is also developed from the Scout’s powertrain.

The liquid-cooled V-Twin closed loop fuel injected engine pumps out a maximum power of 78 horses and a massive 88.8 Nm of peak torque delivered at 5,800 rpm. It comes linked with a five-speed transmission. It rides on 16-inch tyres up front and back and has 120 mm telescopic front fork suspension with 76 mm dual shock setup at the rear.

The famed American motorcycle manufacturer aims to improve the volume sales in the luxury commuter segment with the help of the Scout Sixty. Proportionally similar to the Indian Scout, it measures 2,311 mm in length, 1,207 mm in height, 880 mm in width and has a ground clearance of 135 mm with 1,562 mm wheelbase.
