BMW Motorrad R1200GS is the iconic adventure motorcycle from the brand which has been unbeatable in the segment until now by its competition
BMW Motorrad R1200GS is yet another icon in the German manufacturer stable of motorcycles. Before sports motorcycles came and ruled the tracks and roads. BMW Motorrad R1200GS was already conquering Africa and any kind of roads in the world that the motorcycle was thrown at.
Over the years BMW has been carefully listening to its customer and critics and coming up with improvements and additions to make it more hardcore off-roader, reliable and comfortable at the same time.
2015 saw the iconic motorcycle getting some serious changes to its electronics and engine which includes liquid cooling and boxer engine was major changes. Air/liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder four-stroke Boxer engine with DOHC, spur-gear-driven camshaft and balance shaft with four valves per cylinder engine, the BMW R1200GS produces 125 BHP at 7750 RPM and 125 Nm at 6500 RPM. A compression ratio of 12:5:1, a 20 litre fuel tank along makes a high octane (95) sipper which should deliver fuel range and economy. The motorcycle has a top speed of 200 km/hr. The engine is mated to an built-in six-speed helical gearbox.
The adventure motorcycle is offered with an optional dynamic brake light for the year 2016. BMW Motorrad R1200GS has ABS Pro in the Riding Modes Pro package along with Dynamic ESA making sure suspension stays right with the help of computers. Riding modes are also available with the new BMW Motorrad R1200GS. Suspension wise it get the Telelever with hydraulic steering damper.
At the rear you get the patented BMW Motorrad EVO Paralever. The spring has preload which is steplessly and hydraulically adjustable via handwheel and also adjustable for rebound damping. The motorcycle is all set to be launched in India officially from BMW dealerships.
